What is Seedream 5.0 Pro?
Seedream 5.0 Pro is ByteDance Seed's multimodal image generation model, announced on July 8, 2026. ByteDance positions it around information-dense layouts, careful text rendering, realistic photographic detail, and visual work across many languages. Its announcement also highlights stronger prompt matching, more coherent structure, and better overall aesthetics compared with the previous generation.
On SeeYourDream you can use Pro for text-to-image generation and for reference-based editing, in the same generator as our other Seedream models. You choose the aspect ratio and the quality level, and the credit cost is shown before you generate. This page explains where Pro tends to be the right tool, how to write prompts for it, and what its current limits are.
Give complex ideas a visual structure
Describe the sections, labels, and relationships you want in an infographic. Seedream 5.0 Pro is designed to work with information-rich visual layouts, such as educational diagrams, step-by-step explainers, product breakdowns, and interface-style screens. Provide the exact text in your prompt and review the generated labels before publishing.
For a layout that must hold several pieces of information, structure the prompt like a brief: give the title, list the sections in order, say what each section should show, then describe the style, colors, and spacing. A clear hierarchy in the prompt usually leads to a clearer hierarchy in the image.
Pro examples
A few visual directions to try with Pro: cinematic scenes, storyboards, and photographic portraits.

Shape the lighting and texture in a portrait
Specify the camera angle, light direction, material, and skin texture in your prompt. ByteDance describes Pro as aiming for realistic lighting, reflections, shadows, and skin detail, and it lists effects such as motion blur among its examples. Treat those as directions to ask for rather than guarantees: a prompt such as "soft side light, natural skin texture, shallow depth of field" gives the model concrete instructions to follow.
Use a reference image when you want to guide the subject or composition, and describe the changes you want to make. For portraits of real people, make sure you have the right to use the reference photo.
Create visual concepts across languages
Include the intended language and exact headline in your prompt. ByteDance says Pro supports a dozen widely used languages for prompting and for text inside images, with examples that include English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish accents, and right-to-left Arabic layouts. That makes it useful for exploring localized posters, packaging concepts, and promotional visuals for different markets. Check spelling, layout, and cultural details in every output, especially for languages you do not read yourself.
Edit from your own references
Upload up to five reference images on SeeYourDream. Explain which image provides the subject, setting, or style, and identify the details to preserve. For example: "Keep the chair shape from image 1, use the fabric color from image 2." The current generator uses uploaded images and written instructions for editing.
Pro's official materials also describe point, lasso, and layer-based editing tools. Those belong to the model's wider ecosystem; they are not part of the SeeYourDream generator today, so the instructions you write are the main way to steer an edit here.
Styles Pro can handle
Beyond photography and layouts, ByteDance's examples cover watercolor, blueprint drawings, pencil storyboards, manga, and cinematic stills. If you are exploring a visual style, name it in the first sentence of the prompt and add one or two concrete cues, such as paper texture for watercolor or grid lines for a blueprint. You can then use Pro's detail handling to refine the result.
Where Pro fits in your workflow
Teachers and course creators use detailed, text-rich visuals for classroom materials. Marketers draft campaign posters and localized variants. Product teams sketch interface concepts before design work begins. Filmmakers and game artists block out storyboards. Small businesses prepare menus, flyers, and packaging ideas. Pro makes the most sense when the layout, text, or fine detail is the reason the image exists. For faster exploration, many people start with Flash and move to Pro for the final version.

Seedream 5.0 Pro vs Flash
Choose Pro when your brief centers on information-rich layouts, portrait texture, or multilingual visuals. On SeeYourDream, Pro costs 4 credits per Basic image and 7 per High image. Flash costs 2 and 3 credits respectively, making it a lower-credit option for exploring ideas.
We have not published a benchmark comparing the two. Use the same prompt in both and judge the results for your own project.
| Pro | Flash | |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | Dense layouts, text-heavy visuals, portrait detail | Fast, low-cost exploration |
| Basic (1K) | 4 credits | 2 credits |
| High (2K) | 7 credits | 3 credits |
| Modes | Text-to-image, image-to-image | Text-to-image, image-to-image |
| Reference images | Up to 5 | Up to 5 |
Known limits to plan around
ByteDance itself notes that very fine-grained text rendering still has room to improve, and that keeping an original image perfectly unchanged during pixel-level edits is an area it is working on. In practice, that means you should proofread any text in an output, avoid relying on a single pass for legal or medical wording, and expect small differences when you edit a reference image. Generation uses credits, and results vary from prompt to prompt, so treat the first image as a draft.
